Chef Hubert
Lorenz has more than 25 years
experience in all phases of food
preparation, cooking, menu design,
and event planning. In 1984, he
earned his Masters Degree in Culinary
Arts from the world-renowned Heidelberg
Hotel School in Heidelberg, Germany.
Hubert was
born near the Black Forest spa
town of Baden-Baden in Southwest
Germany. While working his way
up through the ranks, he served
as a cook-apprentice in fine dining
restaurants and hotels in Switzerland,
Germany and Northern Italy. Hubert’s
talents have taken him around
the world on assignments with
upscale hotels and resorts. In
2000, he returned to California
to establish his own successful
catering company.
As an Executive
Chef, Hubert has supervised as
many as 150 cooks, numerous steward
departments, and simultaneously
managed up to 12 restaurants.
He has the versatility to prepare
and present gourmet cuisine for
small, intimate dinners or banquets
for hundreds of people. During
his career, Hubert has cooked
for heads of state, top athletes,
and celebrities. He believes all
guests deserve the "royal
treatment".
Hubert was
a lead chef at the 2006 Winter
Olympics in Torino and previously
at the Olympics in Salt Lake City.
He contributes his culinary skills
to PGA tournaments, and for the
past seven years, he served as
head production chef at the Tennis
Masters Series in Indian Wells,
California. Hubert contributes
to international cookbooks, and
he has appeared on the Discovery
Channel’s Great Chefs of
the World.
